She was born and raised on the west side of Cincinnati and started playing volleyball in 3rd grade. She went on to help St Ursula Academy win the 2001 state championship. Since the age of 12 spent 5-7 days a week playing volleyball or training with coaches like Rich "Z", Ronnie Mahlerwein and Chet Cox.

She currently coaches 8th grade at Nativity. She works at and helps run her family's business that has been located in the heart of the West End since 1946, spends her free time with her 2 weimaraners. She has 8 nieces and nephews, and continues to play sand volleyball.
