Kelly Smith

12-1 Head Coach

Kelly began her volleyball career later than most, as she didn’t touch a volleyball until she was a freshman at Ursuline Academy. During her high school years, Kelly was part of the 1993 State Champion team and named All-State. She earned an athletic scholarship to Valparaiso University.

At Valparaiso, Kelly received year-end recognition in each of her four seasons, beginning with Newcomer of the Year award as a Freshman and earning First Team All-Conference the remaining years. She continues to hold records in number of kills per match, number of blocks per match and hitting Pct number. Kelly remains in the top 10 of several career records.

Post-graduation, Kelly was head coach of the Ursuline Academy freshman team. She also coached Sports Express U18 National team 2002-03, Ohio Volleyball Academy National Team 2003-2005. She has also coached U10 at Cincinnati Volleyball Academy. Kelly also coached at St. Susanna for the past two seasons, beginning her third season now. Kelly is entering her second year coaching at OPVC, as the 12-National Coach.
