Erica Ostendorf
Assistant Director & Head of Recruiting Resources
8th YEAR WITH OPVC
Erica joined OPVC in 2019 and has become an integral part of both our coaching staff and the day-to-day heart of Ohio Premier. As Assistant Director, Erica is involved across nearly every part of the club, supporting our athletes, families, coaches, teams, and overall programming. She also leads OPVC’s recruiting efforts, managing player resources and recruiting platforms and helping athletes and families navigate the college recruiting process.
Erica brings extensive experience as both a player and coach. Originally from Northeast Ohio, she was a four-year varsity player and earned ECOL Player of the Year honors before attending Miami University. She spent four years coaching at Fairfield High School, previously served as a Varsity Assistant at Lakota East High School, and has coached both boys and girls volleyball at Sacred Heart in the GCCYS. She continues to play indoor and outdoor volleyball competitively.
She coaches with high expectations and a direct, honest approach because she genuinely believes in what her athletes are capable of achieving. She pushes players to reach the highest level of their abilities, teaching them to embrace feedback, compete with purpose, and develop the mental toughness to work through challenges. Behind those expectations is a coach who cares deeply about her players and will go above and beyond to support them both on and off the court.
For Erica, developing athletes also means developing people. She incorporates opportunities for her teams to volunteer and give back while emphasizing accountability, resilience, and being a great teammate. Her combination of competitive coaching experience, recruiting knowledge, and investment in her athletes makes her an invaluable part of the OPVC program.
Outside of volleyball, Erica is a software developer at Cincinnati Insurance and enjoys spending time with her family and watching her kids compete in their own sports, her daughter Kennedy is playing collegiate volleyball at Illinois College, and her son Nate plays college football for Gannon University!
