Gia joins OPVC this season as an assistant coach for our 14-2 National team alongside fellow University of Cincinnati middle blocker Audrey Rome. Gia is currently a fifth-year middle blocker for the Bearcats and has spent her entire collegiate career at Cincinnati, competing at the Division I level and through the program’s transition into the Big 12.

Gia has established herself as a strong blocking presence throughout her career at UC. In 2023, she averaged 1.12 blocks per set and led the Bearcats with 71 blocks during Big 12 play. The following season, she recorded a career-high 10 blocks against Baylor—the most by a Cincinnati player in a match since 2018. She has also made an impact offensively, including a career-high 14 kills against UCF and a 12-kill performance while hitting .524 against Morehead State.

After missing the 2025 season due to injury, Gia returns to the Bearcats for the 2026 season as a fifth-year athlete. This spring, she was also selected as the recipient of UC Athletics’ Ted Corbitt Breaking Barriers Award, recognizing a student-athlete who has demonstrated a commitment to breaking barriers and advancing the student-athlete experience.

Before her incredible college career, hervolleyball journey truly stands out - she didn’t begin playing the sport until high school. At Rock Creek Academy in Indiana, she quickly developed into one of the top players in the area. As a junior, she recorded 422 kills, 92 blocks, and 54 aces and was recognized among the top players in Southern Indiana. She went on to earn AVCA Honorable Mention All-America recognition and helped Rock Creek to a program-record 27 wins, its first conference championship, and a regional championship. Gia also competed at the National club level for Union before continuing her career at Cincinnati.
