John joined OPVC in 2022 and will be leading our 11-1 National team for the upcoming season. After several seasons making an impact across OPVC teams as an assistant coach, John brings a strong understanding of our program, athletes, and developmental philosophy into his role leading one of our top youth teams.

Last season, John served as an assistant coach for our 13-2 National team, helping the team earn a bid to the USAV National Championships.

John is known for his ability to connect with young athletes while still challenging them to compete and grow. He meets players where they are in their development, identifies when they need an extra push, and balances patience and encouragement with high expectations. His positive energy and ability to make the gym fun allow him to demand more from his athletes while keeping them engaged, confident, and excited to compete.

John spent several seasons coaching alongside his brother, Coach Ryan, and has played an important role in the development and success of many OPVC athletes. His investment in his players, ability to build relationships, and understanding of what young athletes need to develop make him a strong fit to lead athletes through this critical stage of their volleyball careers.
