Kelli Young
12-1 Head Coach
3rd YEAR WITH OPVC
Kelli joined OPVC in 2024 and brings more than a decade of coaching experience across high school and club volleyball. A former setter and libero/defensive specialist, her experience playing multiple positions gives her a strong understanding of the game from both offensive and defensive perspectives.
Kelli previously coached Varsity Volleyball at Northwest High School and also spent nine years coaching Varsity Track. Her extensive coaching background has shaped an approach centered on high standards, discipline, individual development, and preparing athletes to compete at increasingly higher levels.
Kelli is known for her ability to demand more from her athletes while maintaining their confidence and trust. She adapts her approach to what motivates each player, provides clear and immediate feedback, and challenges athletes to recognize what they are capable of achieving. Families consistently describe her as patient and composed, but unafraid to hold players accountable and push them outside their comfort zones.
Her approach goes beyond teaching skills—Kelli works to develop confident, competitive athletes who understand the game, respond to coaching, and learn how to perform within a team.
Outside of volleyball, Kelli is a high school math teacher at the Butler Tech School of the Arts. She enjoys concerts, Reds games, and cheering on her kids, Parker and Rilynn, in the sports they love.
