Matthew joins OPVC this season as the Head Coach of our 13-2 National team. A Cincinnati native and La Salle High School alum, Matthew was a four-year varsity volleyball letterwinner and earned Second Team All-Region honors his senior year.

Matthew continued his playing career at Thomas More University, competing for four seasons as a defensive specialist/libero. He was also a two-sport collegiate athlete, spending his first two years at Thomas More as a member of the men’s soccer program before focusing on volleyball.

Matthew began coaching while still pursuing his own playing career, working with girls teams from the junior high through high school levels and spending several years coaching with the La Salle boys volleyball program.

Matthew especially enjoys working with competitive athletes who are invested in the game and want to be challenged. Having recently completed his own collegiate career, he brings a current perspective into the gym and understands the work, accountability, and competitiveness it takes to continue developing at a high level.
