Kara grew up in West Chester and started club volleyball at 12 and went on to compete on the Lakota West varsity team for 4 years, while competing on national teams and in competitive beach volleyball. Kara coached the Lakota West freshman team in 2023 and led conditioning workouts for the volleyball program as well.

Kara attended Miami University where she played on their club volleyball team and graduated with a B.S in Kinesiology and a minor in nutrition. She competed in crossfit and bodybuilding competitions while in school! She is currently a DPT student at Mount St. Joseph University!
