Ryan is headed into his 5th season coaching at OPVC, and leaving his most succesful year with OPVC 12-2 last season, where they finished in the gold bracket at AAU Nationals after a lot of exciting success throughout their season.

Ryan is born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio and began his volleyball career his junior year of high school when his parents helped start the first men’s volleyball program at Kings high school. Ryan was a quick study and was nominated as the Southwest Ohio Region representative to the Ohio High School Volleyball boys state All-Star game his senior year. Ryan continued his playing career collegiately at Miami Oxford University on the Men’s club team as a libero where he prided himself on being a defensive tactician. After college Ryan has stayed engaged in the volleyball community both by playing in leagues at various indoor and outdoor volleyball facilities around the city and by coaching both of his daughter’s youth volleyball teams in the Sycamore school district.

Ryan has a true passion for coaching (10 years experience) and his philosophy revolves around creating an environment that encourages the athletes to learn and develop on and off the playing surface while staying positive in both good and bad times (always making sure to have fun!)
