11U - 5th grade
12U - 6th grade
13U - 7th Grade
14u - 8th Grade
For boys' tryouts, players can always play up a grade and sometimes we will mix grades depending on the number of players at tryouts and skill level of players. Our Boys volleyball program only has Regional or National teams. Regional teams are grade level and birthdays do not matter. For National teams, birthdays do matter. Click here for age divisions.
Tryout Information
**Players do not need a USAV/OVR membership to attend OPVC tryouts. All our BOYS teams are going to be strictly JVA/AAU this coming club season. Once a player accepts a position on one of our club teams then they will get information about getting an AAU membership. All players will need an AAU player membership once they are on one of our boys OPVC club teams but it is not required to attend our team club tryouts.
OPVC Tryouts for the 2023/2024 Boys Club season are now posted! We have positions available on all of our club teams at Ohio Premier. Currently, we offer teams for 11U–18U age groups. Tryouts are open to all players. Tryout times are subject to change. Please stay tuned to the website for any updates.

All teams have two 2-hour practices a week with no weekend commitments outside of tournaments and scrimmages from October through December. In January and February, teams will have very little weekend commitments outside of our scheduled tournaments.

All tryouts will take place at 7950 E. Kemper Road at Ronnie Grandison Sports Academy. The building shares a parking lot with Kids First. The cost for tryouts will be $45 for those who pre-register, and $50 at the door. All tryout fees are non-refundable. Players will all receive a tryout shirt they can keep.

We realize that there might be overlaps between club tryouts, so we welcome players to come at any time during tryouts: coming late or leaving early as needed. The important thing is to come! Players are highly encouraged to attend both tryout dates (if they are offered) in their age group. This will give us the best opportunity to evaluate players. If a player cannot attend one of the tryouts in their age group, they must contact Mike Berkemeier. If you do not attend the first session of an age group, you are welcome to attend the second session even if there are callbacks but please notify Mike.
Tryouts are closed, meaning that parents are not allowed to stay in the facility while they take place. Once tryouts begin, parents will be asked to leave the gym and will be unable to return until tryouts are over.
