Carl Lorenzo

Carl joined OPVC in 2023. He has coached girls volleyball for Loveland and Lakota East High Schools, while helping start the program and coaching boys volleyball for Wyoming High School. At OPVC, Carl has head coached six teams and is adding 14 Purple this year as his seventh team. He has previously coached 15 Black, 17 Black National, and 13 Purple National. Working with these teams has shown Carl that volleyball is not all about winning—it is also about family, community, and how being a coach can impact the lives of players in many ways outside of volleyball. Carl started playing volleyball in the 6th grade and played all four years at Fairfield High School. He continues to play competitively around Cincinnati in both indoor and sand volleyball. Carl is also currently a volunteer coach at St. Columban and is in school for nursing. Fun fact: Carl has torn his ACL and meniscus in both legs—and somehow still hasn’t had surgery on either one!
