Paul Straughn

Paul joined OPVC in 2023. His first year he helped our 14 Black team succeed in multiple competitions including a 1st place in gold. His coaching career began in the winter of 2021 with WOAC, leading the 7th and 8th-grade girls volleyball team. Throughout 2021–2023, he expanded his impact by co-coaching 7th/8th-grade boys and 9th–12th-grade girls teams, guiding multiple squads to tournament victories. Most recently, he served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Roger Bacon for the 2026 spring season. In addition to his club experience, Paul remains active in the local volleyball community, coaching high school girls in the WOAC recreational league where his daughter plays, and competing year-round on various indoor and sand teams. Following a brief hiatus for the 2025–2026 club season, Paul is excited to return to the OPVC coaching staff as an assistant coach.
